We outline the top five marvellous destinations which are fit for a grade ‘A’ drag queen. So, stick on the sequins, squeeze into the stilettos and sing your saucy heart out!

New York, USA
This showbiz city is calling you ladies.

Why waste time sightseeing when there’s so many more important things to be doing when you set foot in the Big Apple? Treat yourself to a whole new wardrobe at Planet Pepper, located in the heart of the Garment District on West 39th St. This drag clothing store is renowned for designing elaborate costumes for various pride parades and LGBT charities... eat your heart out Marc Jacobs! Once you’ve dressed to impress, hail a cab like a true leading lady on Broadway and head to Therapy bar situated in the Hell’s Kitchen district. You might be able to see the famous Sherry Vine belt out her Abba inspired classic- Grindr Queen. Or, perhaps her Alicia Keys based track- This Girl is for Hire, is more suited to your taste?

Benidorm, Spain
The Old Town district in this popular Spanish holiday resort is perfect for drag queens craving a glorious sandy beach. Lay out on the gay part of the Levante beach, followed by a glass of something fruity at the nearby Don Cesar café. In the evening, glam yourself up and mince your way to the Calle Cuatro Cantones, which is the centre of the gay scene in Benidorm. The infamous Miss Peggy Wessex is currently performing at the Kafe Klee, one of the longest running international drag show bars in the area. If you’re looking for tips from the resort’s longest running drag queen act, then head to the Showboat venue to see the utterly hilarious Miss Levi (aka Wayne Wright).

Las Vegas, USA
Known as one of the most glamorous and entertaining cities in the world, Las Vegas will not fail those who are gagging for a good time. Enjoy the life of a true Vegas showgirl, where being ‘too camp’ doesn’t exist. Start you evening at Drink and Drag, down the Las Vegas Boulevard, the first bowling and entertainment complex run solely by drag queens. Enjoy a spot of bowling or a game of pool, just make sure you do it all in a fabulous pair of heels. After loosening yourself up at the bowling alley, make your way to the Imperial Palace to see the Divas Las Vegas show. Here you’ll find one of the longest running drag queen acts in the world, where top artists impersonate gay icons such as: Cher, Tina Turner, Dolly Parton, and now Britney Spears.

Playa del Ingles, Gran Canaria
The Yumbo Centre is bursting with gay nightspots and is the perfect place for you and your alter-ego to have a truly memorable time. Trust us when we say this darling- the Yumbo Centre is the gay Mecca. Ricky’s Cabaret Bar has been voted the best show bar in the resort, with a different drag act performing every night of the week. Why not show them how it’s done with a spot of karaoke? A rendition of “I need a hero” or “Barbie girl” will certainly go down a treat here! During the day slip into that fluffy swimming cossie and trot down to the gay beach. This gorgeous stretch of sand is an ideal spot for some daytime cruising, and is perfect for ogling at the ‘chickens’ in their tight swimming trunks.

Paris, France
They don’t call it ‘Gay Paris’ for nothing honey! Paris is ideal for those drag queens who want to combine their Pat Butcher image, with a dash of style and a spray of sophistication…well something like that anyway! Le Marais district, close to Notre Dame, is where the majority of the city’s gay bars and clubs can be found. So after a day of shopping and sipping cocktails down the Champs Elysees, the gay scene needs to be next on your to-do list. Le Spyce bar has an entrance camper than Christmas, with more rainbow flags than Elton and David’s garden shed. Make sure you enjoy a harmless gaze at the sexy Go Go dancers. One night you’ll need to dig out your prized feather-boa for an evening at the Moulin Rouge. Maybe you’ll be able to get some tips and suggestions for your drag act back home?

These destinations are perfect for all the glamourous individuls out there who are looking for an absolutely fabulous time. Walk into every bar, club, theatre or boutique as though you own the place; remember what Lady Ga Ga says, “You were born this way baby!”
