Drew Barrymore is to be honored by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) at this years gala.

The Charlie's Angels star is to be honored with the Vanguard Award at this gala being held in LA on April 17th. Barrymore has always been known for her work with LGBT rights and equality. She previously protested on the streets of California in protest of Proposition 8, which revoked the law that allowed same-sex couples to marry within the state.



The actress is said to be thrilled to be honored with the award. Showbiz Spy reports that she said “I was born, bred and raised among diversity, it has defined me and made me the person I am today…I’m honored and humbled to be receiving this award.”
The Gala takes place on April 17th
