It wasn’t such a great Saturday for The Saturdays this weekend after two of the girls were struck down with a stomach bug just moments before they were due to take to the G-A-Y Heaven stage.

After completing a extensive week of promotional appearances to help with the release of their new single ‘Missing You,’ the girls were preparing to finish it off at the infamous nightclub venue before having to pull out last minute.

Earlier in the week the five of them spent an evening at the smallest of the G-A-Y family, G-A-Y Bar in Soho, where Rochelle Wiseman, Una Healy, Mollie King, Vanessa White and Frankie Sandford all arrived on separate Harleys and later signed copies of their single for their adorning fans.

As party-goers were left in the nightclub under the Arches without a main headline act to take to the stage they continued to fill the room with boo’s as club owner Jeremy Joseph let them know the outcome.

Frankie originally fell ill and then plan was to still go on as a foursome but then Vanessa was violently ill too just moments before the show.

On his official Facebook, Jeremy sent out a message to all those that had been affected by the evening: “So so down, hate being the bearer of bad news, but please believe me that Frankie & Vanessa were genuinely ill, at one stage they were going to do it as 4some, but then Vanessa kept being sick, I can promise you the Saturdays were as upset as you are, they hate letting anyone down.”

He later added: “So glad 2 B home, what a night, boos still ringing in my ears, but at least the ones who didn’t believe that Frankie & Vanessa were genuinely ill will see all of it on ITV2 in a few weeks including them at the sound-check, the decision to do it as a 4 some without Frankie, until Vanessa fell ill at 1am, glad the cameras were there & people can see it all for themselves & a date will be announced to replace tonight’s show.”

The girls were close to bagging their first number one this week but however missed out in the Official Chart, despite leading for most of the week Flo-Rida's ‘Club Can't Handle Me’ took the prime position and ‘Missing You’ came in third behind Eminem feat Rihanna with ‘Love The Way You Lie’.

The Saturday’s have re-scheduled their date at G-A-Y for Sat 25th Sept, which will be a benefit gig in a bid to attempt help G-A-Y towards its £50,000 target for the Elton John Aids Foundation.
