One of the three main hunky male characters in Beverly Hills drama 90210 are set to come out as gay when the show comes back to our screens for the next season.

A producer of the show has revealed that one of the three male characters will go through the process of coming to terms with his sexuality this Autumn.

It is believed to be either Liam (Matt Lanter), Navid (Michael Steger) or Teddy (Trevor Donovan) all of whom have had romantic storylines with the opposite sex in previous seasons.

In season 2 the show dabbled its foot in the realms of gay teen storylines when character Adrianna had a fling with another female character, played by Bruce Willis’s daughter, Rumer Willis.

However, the relationship was short lived as Adrianna returned to liking the opposite sex.

Producers insure that the next story will be much more perminant and hard hitting, with co-EP, Jennie Urman, reportedly telling Entertainment Weekly: “We want to address the issue in a real and relatable way” and insured it was one of many “great story lines” fans can look forward to in season 3.
