Emmerdale star Danny Miller finds it "sad" when people mistake him for his TV character.

Danny plays Aaron Livesy, a troubled teenager who is struggling with his homosexuality, and has admitted that "some people get confused".

The 19-year-old, who is straight in real life but enjoys the challenge of playing a gay man, told Reveal magazine: "A guy in a club shouted 'P**f' at me recently - it's a bit sad that someone of that age can't see the difference between real life and the soap."

Aaron's battle with his sexuality comes to a head next week when he tries to commit suicide by locking himself in the garage and turning on the car engine.

The actor said of the scene: "It was quite an emotional scene to film. I just had to think of bad things that have happened in my life. The action and emotion all flowed from there."
