Glee sensation actress Jane Lynch is reportedly to receive Outhfest’s 14th Annual Achievement Award. After hitting our screens as the rainbow coloured adidas battleaxe cheerleading coach, Sue Sylvester, Lynch has finally achieved hiatus with her hard-hitting character in the cult musical drama.
Openly gay Lynch has been recognised for her portrayal of Sylvester and will receive the award at the gala at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles on July 8.
The Achievement Award, which is Outfest's highest honour, is given to an actor who has made significant contributions to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender film and media.
Talking to Stylist magazine Lynch spoke about her sexuality "I never hid who I was, but I also didn't push it out there either - and nobody seemed to care.
"I think one of the reasons I've had an easy path is that people like Ellen DeGeneres led the way. And now I just get to walk down that trail, whistling."
Jane is reportedly due to marry her long term partner Dr Lara Embry in May.
