Queer As Folk star Charlie Hunnam is confident he’ll have no problem with the explicit script for the big-screen adaption of the steamy worldwide bestseller.

British actor Charlie Hunnam has said gay sex scenes are helping him out as he stars as Fifty Shades of Grey’s lead male.

The 33-year-old has looked back at his first acting job, a gay series called Queer As Folk, and said it probably couldn’t get harder than that.

"In Queer As Folk, there were incredibly explicit sexual scenes with a man,’ he told The Hollywood Reporter.

"So if I could do it when I was 18 with a guy, I can certainly do it at 33 with a lady."
