Many have acted out against the singer for her beliefs many of whom believe she is acting against those of the Bible, with one Twitter follower asking her: “Where in the Bible does God say homosexuality is OK?”
Cryus defended her decision by tweeting back: "Where does it say in the bible to judge others? Oh right.
It doesn't. GOD is the only judge honey. GOD is love."
Miley fans all over the world began a heated debate about the situation, with some for and some against equality, the singer then stepped up in an attempt to calm the tension between her followers, by tweeting: "Everyone is entitled 2 opinions, if u don't stand 4 something you'll fall for anything."
The singer come actress, a regular at London’s hit gay nightspot Heaven, has long been known for her support for gay rights and equality for all.
Back in 2009 she vocalized her opinions after Miss USA contestant Carrie Prejean revealed she was against gay marriage.
She tweeted (via MTV.com): "Jesus loves you and your partner and wants you to know how much he cares! That's like a daddy not loving his lil boy cuz he's gay and that is wrong and very sad! Like I said everyone deserves to be happy. I am a Christian and I love you -- gay or not. Because you are no different that anyone else! We are all God's children!"
After making her stance clear on her support for LGBT rights the former Disney teen left Twitter in 2009 due to a high number of hate mail and anti-gay tweets.
Talking about her brief stint away from the world of social media, she said: "I said on there that I believed in gay marriage because everyone should have the right to love each other, I got such hate mail about being a bad person."
