If you were recently on a gay networking site and thought all your Christmas’s had come at once when you saw superstar George Michael on the prowl you would be wrong, as it has been confirmed that it isn’t in fact the singer but someone taking the ‘michael.’

The Faith singer has reportedly had a fake profile set up on a gay social network Scruff stating that the singer is looking for a discreet hook up in his new stomping grounds in Sydney, Australia.

A spokesperson for the Wham! star has claimed that the profile, featuring photos for George around Sydney and in hotel rooms, are absolutely fake and the work of an internet prankster.
They said to the Daily Mail: ‘We hear about stories like this all the time and they always turn out to be pranks.

The Iphone app Scruff describes itself as being for ‘bears, furred, inked, uniformed, jocks, geeks and more.’
