Gay "Beetlejuice" actor Glenn Shadix dies aged 58

Gay actor Glenn Shadix, who was best known for his role in cult classic Beetlejuice, has died at his home Alabama aged 58.

The Hollywood actor died at his home on Tuesday and the cause of death is unknown but his sister, Susan Gange, reportedly told the local Birmingham news:
''He was having mobility problems, and he was in a wheelchair.... It looks like he fell and hit his head in the kitchen, and that's the cause of death.''

Shadix had an accolade of quirky films he had appeared in throughout his acting career. Due to a close bond with dark director Tim Burton he appeared in some oh is biggest films from, "The Nightmare Before Christmas," "Planet of the Apes" and "Beetlejuice," where he played interior designer “Otho”

The actor was also know for openly talking about his sexuality and being a vocal activist.

In a candid interview the with Truth Wins Out he revealed about his time has a teenager when he underwent a supposed ex-gay treatment.

In the past he commented: ''You can stop being 'actively' homosexual. But you'll always be homosexual if you are a homosexual. And that's my belief.... I'm highly motivated to speak out specifically against 'aversion therapy,' and the notion that you can change a person's sexual identity -- that it's some sense of choice. Well, it was not a choice in my case, and I know of no choice.... Gay people of my generation owe it to generation to come to tell he truth....''

He also spoke about the disturbing methods used to try and turn him heterosexual for his parent’s acceptance, which included electro shock tactics when thinking about me, leaving him in a coma one time. The troubled teen also attempted suicide as he battled with his sexuality and acceptance from his family.
