Gay Indians exposed in TV news feature

An Indian TV network has released a news feature entitled ‘Gay Culture Rampant In Hyderabad’ which was used to out gay people as they labeled them as ‘deviants’.

The channel TV9 Telgu programme showed Indian men looking at gay youths profiles on the online social networking website which is also used for dating.

Photos and private information were released on the show causing trouble amongst the underground LGBT community in India.

An investigator posed as a gay man and enticed the others to answer question to determine their sexuality, stats and fetishes in what they called the ‘Sting Operation.’

It has been reported that one young man has already committed suicide after his picture was featured in the news feature, which his parents saw.
