London’s Lovebox Weekender has partnered with Stonewall for the music festival on Sunday 18 July 2010 in Victoria Park. The Sunday of the weekend festival has a special gay-friendly focus this year, with performances by Grace Jones, Hot Chip, Peaches, Hercules & Love Affair and many more.

Stonewall Deputy Fundraising Director Michaela Greene said: ‘Stonewall is proud to partner with Lovebox for their new special gay-friendly themed day on Sunday 18 July. Stonewall will have a stall throughout the festival so do pop by and say hi to us if you’re going on the Friday or Saturday, too.’

Lovebox promoter James Baille said: ‘The Lovebox team passionately believes in celebrating human diversity in all its forms.

Our events are about creating a place where everyone feels included. We believe that in Stonewall we’ve found a partner who shares that passion and belief.’

Performance artist Jonny Woo will be compeering the main stage on Sunday 18 July. Jonny said: ‘Go gay on Sunday at Lovebox for what will be the city’s if not the country’s biggest and most fabulous gay music festival. Hands in the air, I intend to stage dive!’

The Sunday event is billed as being a ‘freewheeling, groundbreaking, no-holds-barred, non stop polysexual party, pulling together elements of the very best gay clubs, fiercest underground parties, cutting edge fashion, hottest emergent artists.’

Gay themed DJ sets on the Sunday include Horse Meat Disco, Trailer Trash and Salvation.

Proceeds from the ticket donation and collection on the day will go towards supporting Stonewall’s Education for All campaign which combats homophobic bullying in schools.
