We have a hung parliament. As we speak the seats stand at:

Labour- 247
Conservative- 290
Liberal Democrats- 51
Other- 27

Conservative have an overwhelming majority up 3.7% whilst Labour are down with a swing of nearly 7%.

Due to the first past the post system that we use in the country even though the Tories have won more seats they do not have enough of a majority to take control of Number 10.

Gordon Brown is allowed to try and make a stable government before leaving office.
