Police in East London are urging people to be vigilant as they search for a suspect who is targeting gay men.

They are trying to trace the man who is linked to a string of thefts, all from gay men. On Monday afternoon, the Metropolitan Police Service announced they are looking for 30 year-old Michael Lawrence, who is described as a black male, 6ft and muscular build.

He often uses other names and is known to have been around Hackney, Camden, Southwark and Tower Hamlets areas of the capital.

Anyone with any information about Mr Lawrence is asked to contact Hackney police on 101, quoting reference 4618456/13 or anonymously call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police have warned people not to approach Mr Lawrence but instead call 999.
