Karl Lagerfeld has blasted Pippa Middleton, saying she should "only show her back" as she "struggles" with her looks.

The creative director of Chanel has been quoted by the Sun Newspaper: "I don't like the sister's face. She should only show her back."

Lagerfeld has never shied away from making caustic remarks about other celebrities.

Speaking of Adele in February this year he said: "She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice.”

He apologised for his comments later but this latest revelation will cause criticism, with one Facebook user stating: "Has Karl Lagerfeld looked in the mirror lately, do you think? Maybe he should before he passes judgement."

However, Lagerfeld praised Victoria Beckham. "And that body, after four children. There are not so many who have a body like that. She is very disciplined.”

Perhaps Karl Lagerfeld and the Duke of Edinburgh should get together and compare notes...
