The organising team for Calderdale’s hugely-successful Pride event are honored to have been awarded Best New Charity in the Halifax Courier Community & Environment Awards 2011.

Kirk Hopewell, Group Treasurer said ‘Winning Best New Charity is a massive boost to everyone involved with Calderdale Pride; this recognition is extremely encouraging and rewarding, and will help secure the success of both the organisation and the event now and into the future’.

‘Very well done and a huge thank you to absolutely everyone who has supported us, and of course to Harvey’s of Halifax who generously sponsored this incredible award’.

‘2011 is European Year of Volunteering and I would strongly urge individuals, groups and organisations to take an interest in their local Pride events and consider offering them their full support in whichever form this may take’.

‘As we head towards our AGM, would also like to invite people from all backgrounds to come along and help us in shaping Calderdale Pride as both a responsible charitable organisation and a vibrant and exciting community event both now and in the future’.
