Talented Jason Woods has been confirmed to have died during his sleep, aged 38.

The musical star and performer reportedly died during his sleep on Saturday and there is said to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Woods, was known for his comedic drag shows where he impersonated the likes of Cher. Also known as ‘Cher Travesty’ when adorned in drag, he was widely admired and critically acclaimed among the gay community.

Instead of being the leading lady, he later decided to lead the ladies as he entered the first Series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. However, Woods didn’t have as much luck in the dancing department compared to his other talents, as he was the first to be voted off.

Agents, Hannah Chambers and Sophie Church have released a joint statement to confirm the loss:

"We are devastated by the loss of our client Jason Wood…He was an inspiring & individual performer who believed that 'variety' was the spice of life and whose wind ups were legendary…He was also a warm-hearted and caring man. We have lost a friend as well as a client and he will be truly missed."

Director of Talent Media, Darren Waite, was a friend of Woods and today he writes the Editors Column for Pinkwire, in memory of his friend, Darren said: “My condolences go out to Jason’s family and loved ones.
Keep singing in the moonlight Jason and dance in the sun beams, we are all still listening,”
